The oil lamp is from hut C of the nuragic village S’Urbale (Teti-NU). It is shaped like a spoon and had a small loop to hold it up. A hollow cylindrical foot allowed a rod to be inserted so it could also be used as a torch. Oil lamps, fueled by vegetable oils or animal fats, lit huts, nuraghi and sacred places. The object is dated between the 12th and 8th centuries B.C. (Late Bronze-Early Iron Age)
