The fine jug comes from Hut F of the nuragic village of S’Urbale. It is 20 cm tall, pot-bellied, and has a tall, narrow sloping neck on which a large loop is set. The vase, richly decorated with geometric motifs, belongs to a particular type of Nuragic jug called an askoid (from the Greek askós meaning wineskin) used for pouring wine. The find dates to the Final Bronze Age (12th-10th centuries B.C.).
